“I ain’t lookin’ down but I see you lookin’ up”
I AM ORFA is an Amy Stroup X Milkglass production incorporating the stylings of a few trusted collaborators. You may have heard them as the soundtrack for some of tv’s most dramatic moments – the 2021 French Open, Coke, and Hyundai commercials, CW’s Legacies, Nancy Drew, and The Perfectionist. ORFA cites growing up to a diverse compendium of musical influences from Lauryn Hill, Paula Abdul, and Bill Withers, to Joan Jett and 80’s top 40 radio. She writes, “With all that is going on in the world today, a positive message is more important than ever before. I want my music to empower people, especially young females, to step confidently in the direction of their inherent divinity to make a positive impact on our world.”
I AM ORFA's debut album Good Woman is the first full length release. The album was started in Los Angeles in 2018, but creators Amy Stroup & Mary Hooper joined up with Chad Copelin and Chris Henderson at the Sonic Ranch to finish things out. "We decided to make most of the record with some of our favorite producers and felt so lucky we were able to do it amidst the spirit of that pecan farm on the border of Mexico.” Good Woman debuted April 10th everywhere in digital form. I AM ORFA’s follow-up album Why Not followed suit.
